The SliceNet project was represented at the Fabulous 3rd EAI International Conference, on Future Access Enablers of Ubiquitous and Intelligent Infrastructures with two main topics:
- Keynote speech: Marius Iordache, “Telco network evolution for the future 5G services” (Orange, Romania) Slides available here: Orange_Romania_Slicenet_Marius_Iordache-1.
- Technical Session 4 Paper presentation on Radio Access and 5G Networks titled: “5G challenges, requirements and key differentiating characteristics from the perspective of a mobile operator”. Slides available here: fabulous2017Madalina_Oproiu
Orange Ro presented 5G key technologies aspects and implementations steps, standardization processes effort, use-cases and ORO Smart City Use case, and ORO effort within SLICENET consortium for 5G-PPP R&D activities.
The paper presents the 5G challenges, requirements and key characteristic from a telecom operator view, by creating the architectural perspectives concepts for a mobile network.
Main categories of use cases, as massive broadband , massive machine-type communication and critical machine-type communication are defined to be the foundation of system requirements for the 5G Architecture, physical and logical, that will drive the next generation network implementations.”
The 3rd EAI International Conference on Future Access Enablers of Ubiquitous and Intelligent Infrastructures (FABULOUS 2017) aims to gather prominent researchers from academia and industry, innovators and entrepreneurs in the broad areas of future wireless networks, ambient and assisted living and smart infrastructures in order to interact, exchange ideas, expertise, experience and know-how and discuss the latest results and achievements in the aforementioned topics of interest.
