As part of the SliceNet project, Efacec have devised a SmartGrid Self-Healing solution. During an outage where part of the grid goes down, this part can be automatically and rapidly isolated allowing the rest of the grid to remain on. Access to a modern 5G network means communications are faster and more reliable and the automatic grid healing is also faster and more reliable.

This SliceNet webinar is on the subject of 5G Integrated Multi-Domain Slicing Friendly Infrastructure. It is focused on network and domain technology that are customized to experimentally validate different use cases considered in SliceNet (e.g. e-health). It describes how SliceNet addresses end-to-end (E2E) network slices from the network operator, infrastructure provider and service provider point of view.
This interesting webinar is presented by Navid Nikaein, Professor, Communication System Department at Eurecom, France. It is moderated by Jeanne Louise Caffrey of RedZinc in Ireland, a SliceNet partner. The webinar addresses the main challenges and requirements for technical achievements and regarding the design and prototyping of 5G integrated multi-domain SliceNet infrastructure based on opensource software platforms.

- Find out more about the successful collaboration between SLICENET & MATILDA, two 5G-PPP Phase 2 projects. This resulted in a use case on intelligent lighting smart city 5G cloud native application, implemented in Romania. The presentation of the use case took place in CAMPUS Research Centre, from Politehnica University of Bucharest.
- The third of the SliceNet webinar series is on 5G Multi-Domain Slice Management. This webinar builds on our previous webinars and discusses the achievements and applications from the innovations in the project. This webinar is presented by Dr. Thuy Truong, Dell Technologies Research and moderated by Jeanne Louise Caffrey, Director of Marketing, RedZinc. Dell Technologies and RedZinc are partners in the SliceNet project. The webinar concentrates on the SliceNet Plug & Play management framework and FCAPS framework to address the operation management of slices. The Plug & Play management framework provides an automated deployment and configuration approach that has been applied to the per-slice/per-service functions in SliceNet control instances serving the verticals. The FCAPS framework aims to address more accurately and consistently the operation management of slices.
